Standard Qualitative Filter Papers are used for low gravity, or quadrant-folded applications. They have a higher level of α- cellulose than other filter papers. This means that they will weaken when the papers are introduced to water. We do not recommend Standard Qualitative Filter Papers if wet handling or vacuum work is necessary. In routine quadrant-folded applications the underlying strength of standard (untreated) grades does not present an issue.
Grade 302: is a medium-filtering qualitative paper with a thick, smooth texture and high absorbency. Made from 100% pure cellulose fibres, it has a larger pore size and twice the thickness of Grade 301. Its increased thickness allows for greater loading capacity and more efficient filtration of fine particles without clogging, making it ideal for gravity-based applications.
Application: Dyes, ether, alcoholic solutions, eaux de cologne, salted solutions, vegetal extracts, hair solutions, perfumes, tinctures, saccharine juices and vinegar
Qualitative Analysis: Suitable for analytical procedures focused on identifying materials in solution.
Thick and Absorbent: Twice the thickness of Grade 301, allowing for improved capacity and handling.
Fine Particle Retention: Effective for filtering out fine particles in a wide range of samples.
High Loading Capacity: Holds more precipitate per use, making it efficient for larger sample volumes.
General Laboratory Use: Commonly used in dye filtration and gravity-fed applications with Buchner funnels.
