Ashless Quantitative Filter Papers are high-purity filters made from 100% cotton linters and acid-washed to remove impurities. With an ash content of just 0.007%, they are ideal for gravimetric analysis and sample preparation where minimal residue is critical. These papers offer excellent wet strength, making them suitable for use with Buchner funnels in quantitative applications. Available in a wide range of pore sizes and formats, they meet international standards for analytical filtration.

Grade 353: is a medium-fast ashless filter paper designed for inorganic and instrumental analysis, including gravimetric procedures that require ashing. With an intermediate pore size of 8–12 µm and a filtration speed of 20 seconds (DIN 53137), it provides a balance between retention and flow rate. Grade 353 is suited for collecting coarser precipitates such as lead, iron, and silver sulphides, alkali carbonates, and various heavy metals. Its low ash content ensures accurate results during sample combustion, and it is also widely used in air pollution monitoring, soil analysis, and the filtration of foodstuffs.

Application: Most commonly used grade for coarser precipitates such as lead, iron and silver sulphide, alkali carbonates, lead chromate, arsenic, antimony, cadmium and foodstuffs.

Key Features

Medium-Fast Filtration: Offers a good balance of speed and retention for coarser materials.

Intermediate Pore Size (8–12 µm): Suitable for a wide range of particles in quantitative procedures.

Low Ash Content: Only 0.007%, ensuring accurate results during combustion or ashing.

Instrumental Compatibility: Used in XRF and other analytical techniques following particulate collection.

Versatile Industrial Use: Effective in construction, mining, steel, and environmental testing.

  • Gravimetric analysis of lead, iron, silver sulphides, and alkali carbonates
  • Inorganic analysis for arsenic, antimony, cadmium, and lead chromate
  • Air pollution monitoring with XRF follow-up
  • Soil testing and agricultural analysis
  • Food industry filtration of particulate-containing samples
  • Ashing procedures requiring low-residue filter media
