Silver Membrane Filters: 3.0 Micron, 13mm - 47mm
Sterlitech silver membrane filters are manufactured from 99.97% pure silver, offering exceptional chemical and thermal resistance for demanding laboratory filtration. These pure metallic membranes are ideal for aggressive fluids, high-temperature environments, and specialised analytical techniques, including x-ray diffraction (XRD) and mineral quantification.
Available in pore sizes ranging from 0.2 µm to 5.0 µm, silver membranes provide precise retention for fine particulates and are specified in NIOSH methods for the analysis of silica, lead sulfide, boron carbide, and chrysotile asbestos. Their robust structure allows for multiple cleaning cycles and reuse, making them a long-lasting solution for high-performance applications.
Sterlitech silver membranes can withstand temperatures up to 550°C, depending on pore size, and tolerate a wide range of cleaning methods, including chemical, ignition, ultrasonic, and combination treatments. Their mechanical strength and precision retention capabilities make them ideal for gravimetric analysis, trace metal filtration, and quantitative mineral detection.
These membranes are non-fragile under proper handling and resist most chemicals except a few known reactants (e.g., nitric acid, sulfuric acid, cyanide, and acetylene). They are not recommended for EtO sterilisation, as silver acetylide formation may occur under specific gas conditions.
Silver membranes have no fixed shelf life. To preserve integrity, they should be stored sealed in original packaging until use. Surface discolouration may occur over time but is cosmetic only and does not impact performance.
Sterlitech™ Silver Membranes can be used for a wide variety of industrial hygiene, OSHA and laboratory applications.
