What is Sodium Persulphate? It is the inorganic compound with the formula Na2S2O8. It is the sodium salt of peroxydisulphuric acid, H2S2O8, an oxidising agent. It is a white solid that dissolves in water. It is almost non-hygroscopic and has good shelf-life.

Consistent Quality: We provide only high-quality Sodium Persulphate, ensuring reliable and consistent performance for all applications.

Shipped from Manchester, UK Facility: Sourced and packaged in non-toxic, chemical-resistant containers to ensure safe handling and preserve product quality during transport.

Frequent Uses

Plastic Production
It is mainly used as a radical initiator for emulsion polymerisation reactions for styrene based polymers such as polystyrene and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene.

Adhesives
Also applicable for accelerated curing of low formaldehyde adhesives.

Organic Chemistry
It is a specialised oxidising agent in chemistry, classically in the Elbs persulphate oxidation and the Boyland–Sims oxidation reactions. It is also used in radical reactions; for example in a synthesis of diapocynin from apocynin where iron(II) sulphate is the radical initiator.

Water Treatment
Acts as an oxidizing agent to remove organic contaminants from industrial and municipal wastewater.

  • As a powerful oxidizing agent in many chemical reactions
  • In the electronics industry for the production of printed circuit boards
  • In the textile industry as a bleach and desizing agent
  • In the cosmetics industry as a hair bleaching agent
  • In the oil and gas industry for enhanced oil recovery
  • In the water treatment industry for removing contaminants
  • In the food industry as a dough conditioner
  • In the pharmaceutical industry as a sterilizing agent for medical equipment and instruments.
