Wet-strengthened filter papers are manufactured from a majority of alpha-cellulose. The smooth surface allows for fibre-free filtration. They feature a high wet strength and can also be used in the filtration of strong alkaline or acid solutions. Due to their high mechanical strength, they are suited to applications where the residue is removed from the filter, for example with a spatula or a jet of water.

Grade 325: is a fast-filtering, wet-strengthened paper with extremely high loading capacity. It is ideal for the filtration of coarse and gelatinous precipitates where high flow rates are essential. The creped surface increases the effective filtration area, further boosting speed and efficiency in demanding applications. Grade 325 is a more open version of Grade 323, making it particularly well-suited for bulk filtration tasks.

Application: Gelatinous Precipitates, Coarse Particle Filtration, Bulk Sample Processing

Key Features

Wet Strength: Engineered to withstand mechanical stress and wet handling.

Fast Filtration Speed: Optimised for rapid processing of large or viscous sample volumes.

Very High Loading Capacity: Effectively handles heavy particulate loads without frequent filter changes.

Creped Surface: Increases surface area and prevents clogging for consistent flow.

Open Texture: Ideal for coarse or bulky materials in less sensitive filtration procedures.

  • Filtration of gelatinous hydroxides such as ferric, aluminium, or magnesium
  • Rapid separation of coarse particulates in industrial or environmental testing
  • High-throughput filtration workflows in chemical processing
  • Food or agricultural testing requiring fast and durable filtration
  • Use in Buchner funnels or gravity filtration for viscous or particulate-rich samples
