What is Zinc Carbonate? It is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula ZnCO₃. It is a white, odourless, and insoluble solid in water. It occurs naturally as the mineral smithsonite and can be synthesised by reacting a water-soluble zinc salt with sodium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate. It is commonly used in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and various industrial applications.
